Circa Waves Release New Single Album “HELL on EARTH”
Circa Waves released a new single with the title Hell On Earth. This surprise from Circa Waves signaled the “beginning of a new era” for the band after the last release of their Sad Happy album in early 2020.
Hell On Earth premiered on August 17th on BBC Radio 1. This song talks about the world moving so fast around us that each of us struggles to keep up.
The music video for Circa Waves has also been released and directed by Circa Waves themselves. Unfortunately, Circa Waves is still keeping the details of their next project a secret.
Circa Waves is an English indie rock band formed in Liverpool in 2013. The band consists of vocalist and guitarist Kieran Shudall, guitarist Joe Falconer, bassist Sam Rourke and drummer Colin Jones.
Kieran, Sam, and Colin met through their friends at Liverpool Sound City in 2013, followed by a meeting with Joe shortly thereafter at the same festival where he worked as stage manager. During the summer and fall of 2013, the band played several short tours of the UK, including several secret shows.
On December 2, 2013, Circa Waves released their debut single entitled Get Away/Good For Me, a double A-side on Transgressive Records handled by Jen Long’s Kissibility label.
The band opened the NME Awards Tour in March 2014, with other line-ups such as Temples, Interpol and Royal Blood. On June 10, 2014, Circa Waves released their EP Young Chasers on Virgin Records in the US. Then they also released a Japanese edition on 2 July 2014. In 2014 too, Circa Waves supported 1975 on a UK tour.
Circa Waves performed at various festivals during the summer of 2014, including Hurricane and Southside Festivals in Germany, Latitude Festival, T in the Park, Glastonbury Festival, and Splendor in the Grass (Australia). They also performed at Arenal Sound (Spain), Summersonic in Japan, and at the Reading and Leeds Festival in late August 2014. The band also supported The Libertines in September 2014.
Circa Waves released their debut album, Young Chasers, on 30 March 2015 which reached 10 on the UK Album Charts and performed at a number of festivals, including Glastonbury, Reading & Leeds, and Boardmasters. In October 2015, the band toured the UK, including a sold-out date at O2 Academy Brixton.
Circa Waves announced their second album, Different Creatures, on November 24, 2016, releasing the first single from the album Wake Up on the same day.

The second single from the album, Fire That Burns, was released on 26 January 2017. The album was released on 10 March 2017 and peaked on the UK Albums Chart at number 11.
On April 5, 2019, the band released their third studio album, What’s It Like Over There? to critical success. This success was supported by the singles, Times Won’t Change Me, Movies, and The Way We Say Goodbye. The album received critical acclaim for its mix of indie and pop rock, as well as experimentation by the band. It peaked at Number 10 on the UK Albums Chart.
On 19 November 2019, the band released the single Jacqueline via BBC Radio 1. The single was accompanied by the announcement of their upcoming album Sad Happy. The album was released in two parts, with the Happy side released in January 2020 and the Sad side following in March 2020. According to the band, the double album concept “represents both sides of this technology-saturated and highly insecure age”.
