Vended Band Release Music Video for Their New Single “Overall”
Vended Band – A new visual set has been officially released by Vended Band to accompany the release of their new single, Overall. The metal band which is a project of Slipknot vocalist Corey Taylor and Slipknot percussionist Shawn ‘Clown’ Crahan has released an intense music video. The music video was directed by Derek Rathbun and released on November 2, 2022.
The Overall music video shows Griffin, Simon, and their bandmates Jeremiah Pugh, Cole Espeland, and Connor Grodzicki, performing the song in a dark warehouse.
“‘Overall, this is a song about being stuck in your own head and having your thoughts self-sabotage,” Griffin said in a statement.
“And how sometimes you guys are the only ones who can help yourself out of that sabotaged headspace. ‘I salt the wound myself’ has a double meaning; you feel the pain of a bad thought, or you lean into it and hug it,” he continued.
Overall is a follow-up to Vended’s release last July, Ded To Me, which was released before their European tour. The Vended European Tour itself includes headline shows in London and Bournemouth. The band also performed at the Bloodstock Festival in Derbyshire, England. They are also scheduled to leave to support Ukrainian metal band Jinjer on their US tour.
Vended Band, the metal band, which consists of the sons of two Slipknot members, also talked about how they carved their own path in the music industry. Although of course, people’s assumptions will encourage great nepotism.
“Yeah, we got a lot more help from other bands and I’m being honest about that. I’m not going to say that we didn’t because it’s not fair to who our fathers are,” Simon said in an interview with Kerrang!.
Simon continued, “They’ve helped us, but they never, never, wrote our music, never showed us how to play, never showed us how to go on stage, they never did any of that. When people say, ‘Oh, Griffin’s daddy probably showed him how to scream how he does it, Griff is teaching himself.”
This November also marks one year since Vended released their debut EP, What Is It/Kill It. In a press release, they revealed more music would be coming soon. Check out Vended’s music video entitled Overall below.
Last July, Vended Band released a single called Ded To Me. Vended released a brutal new song on 15 July 2022 and then ahead of their European and UK tour starting 20 July 2022.
In a joint statement with Vended regarding the single Ded To Me. “This song is unforgiving and uncompromising. We’re back and better than ever. This is absolute shit!”
Meanwhile, Vended has also released duo singles, Asylum and Burn My Misery, ahead of his five-song debut EP, What Is It / Kill It. The two singles were released on DSP in November 2021. The collection was recorded with Griffin Landa of The Acacia Strain. The two singles ended Vended’s first United States headlining tour. After that, the band went on to open the day’s show at the massive Los Angeles Knotfest event at the Banc Of California Stadium. They played with Slipknot, Bring Me The Horizon, Killswitch Engage, Fever 333, Code Orange, and Cherry Bombs.
Last month, when talking to Heavy New York about his hands-on approach with VENDED, Griffin said, “Our goal wasn’t to go on stage and be, like, ‘Look at us. We’re so cool. We really love this.’ Our goal is to cheer you up; our goal is to make you feel better. Because everyone feels like trash right now.”
He says it feels kind of nice to have someone hurt themselves on stage just screaming and then wake up the next morning with a problem and then go home. He said, “Like ‘you know what? It was a very pleasant experience. I can see where these people are coming from.’ And if you didn’t enjoy the Vended Band show, that’s okay.
For him, it’s entirely the listener’s choice not to like Vended’s music, as it only makes them try harder and makes them take steps to not reinvent themselves so much as to become almost unrecognizable. But changing them all to the point like “maybe we can do it again and maybe we can try again.”
Vended Band was formed in February 2018 in Des Moines, Iowa. Vended features a very heavy sound built on the foundation laid by speed, power, and rhythmic precision. His material is layered with fierce guitars, devastating guitar solos, and raspy yet melodic vocals that capture the hardships and harsh realities of life.
