This isn’t the first time these two British music talents have teamed up. They previously worked together on the single “Young Guns” back in 2011, alongside Lewi White, Yasmin, and Criminal. In 2012, they also collaborated on the hit track “Watchtower.” “The Great British Bar Off” represents their third musical endeavor together. Notably, this single is the first release from Devlin’s upcoming album, aptly titled “James Devlin.”
The official statement regarding this collaboration explained that the music video was shot in the same location where Devlin recorded his groundbreaking F64 clip for SB.TV over a decade ago. This choice of location holds significant sentimental value, marking the evolution of both artists’ careers.
Ed Sheeran shared his excitement for the project, stating, “My early career is intrinsically linked to Jamal Edwards and Devlin. Most of my early videos were where people got to know me, and Jamal recorded them with Devs and me for SB.TV. With this one, Dev and I wanted to take it back to 2010 and create bars that we’re calling ‘The Great British Bar Off.’ This is from Devlin’s upcoming album, ‘The James Devlin Album,’ which is coming soon. I’m thrilled to do it, going back to my roots on the old Universal rooftop.”
