Steve Vai New Album with New Song “Busted”
Steve Vai New Album – Steve Vai and the label Favored Nations, in partnership with the label Mascot Label Group, will release the album VAI/GASH in digital format and on compact discs on January 27, 2023. The vinyl album will follow soon on February 24, 2023.
Steve Vai also revealed his new song, Busted. Vai says, “This song, Busted, is basically about the unrelenting and heinous activities of a mistress who is corrupt and delinquent towards her biker boyfriend. But finally he ‘busted’. The entire track was recorded in one day and Gash did the vocals in two takes.”
Talking about Steve Vai New Album, He also said, “This record was written and recorded in a kind of stream of consciousness way back in 1991, maybe over a 2-week period, in response to my desire to listen to a certain type of music when I was a kid, riding a Harley Davison motorcycle. me with my friends.”
“It reminds me of a certain kind of rock music that I enjoyed as a teenager in the 1970s. This record has been sitting on the shelf for over 30 years and is released now in 2023.”
Steve Vai has previously revealed the music video for In The Wind. Steve Vai added, “In The Wind is the first song recorded for this record. It captures the free spirit of the open road we feel when riding our Harleys in bike rallies and interstate road trips. This song has the joy of having such power while kissing the wind.”

Vai reflects, “About 1990, I was overcome with an urge to rip what I thought would be the kind of straight rock record that contained the kind of music I wished I had listened to when I was a teenager taking refuge in biker culture. And then I met Gash.”
Gash was born in Queens, New York, and was an avid motorcycle enthusiast from a young age. In 1977 at the age of 21, he suffered a serious accident that caused his body to burn while diving 30 feet into a barbed wire fence. But he persevered, and eventually thrived again. He went to Los Angeles in 1982 and was soon back on his motorbike.
Steve Vai met Gash through a mutual friend, Mark Cimino. They bonded over biker culture, and he chose the name “Gash” as a nickname. Steve Vai was then interested in taking Gash to the music studio and seeing him sing the biker-type songs he had demoed. Steve Vai was then stunned when he heard Gash’s voice, as he thought it suited the demo music.
Steve Vai then began releasing work on Sex and Religion and hoped to eventually record more of the eight songs I had done with Gash for another alternative project. But the fact is, it is impossible to materialize.

After three decades, Steve Vai has finally shared his work with the Gash. According to him, “He really is going to be rock’s greatest lead singer. All the elements are in place, but he is gone. Discouraged, I put the entire project on the shelf, and have been listening to it at least once a year for the past 30 years, especially around his death anniversary.”
“Then recently, something compelled me to want to get it out now. I hope you guys will have the chance to get to know John. I’m sure you guys will love him as much as the rest of us. For now, he is In the Wind,” said Steve Vai.
Steve Vai is the owner of the full name Steven Siro Vai who is known as an American guitarist, composer, songwriter, and music producer. He started his career in 1978 and played with Frank Zappa. His solo career began in 1983 and has released eight studio albums to date. In addition, Vai has toured with live-only acts G3, Zappa Plays Zappa, and the Experience Hendrix tour, as well as major international tours.
Vai has been described as an “individualistic guitarist” and part of the “rock and heavy metal virtuoso” generation that emerged in the 1980s. He released his first solo album, Flex-Able (1984). While his most successful release, Passion and Warfare (1990), has been described as “the richest and best hard rock guitar virtuoso album of the 1980s”. He was voted the “10th Greatest Guitarist” by Guitar World magazine and has sold more than 15 million records.
