Void of Vision Released Their Third Mini Album “CHRONICLES III: UNDERWORLD.”

Void of Vision has officially released their third mini album aka extended play (EP) from their EP series titled Chronicles, CHRONICLES III: UNDERWORLD. The third Void of Vision EP in the series was dropped on November 11, 2022, as a surprise release for fans.

This third EP preview was released last October when the genre-bending Melbourne band released Hell Hell Hell, an industrial track inspired by the likes of Pendulum and The Prodigy. This third EP features two more songs, with the next single entitled ASMR.

In a press release, vocalist Jack Bergin explained that ASMR is another smoky song heavily inspired by deep-house and techno. ASMR is the first song written by Void Of Vision for the Chronicles series.

“I’m pretty sure the vocal demo was the first thing I tracked down on my laptop for this whole project,” says the vocalist.

On how the track has evolved over the last two years, Jack Bergin continued, “The simplicity of ASMR never went from there. We wanted to keep it open and open and build it to a big end result. But in the final moments with the track in the studio, we decided to tweak the finale entirely, going against what initially sounded more ‘traditional’ Void of Vision, and opting to challenge ourselves to really bring it home and amplify this. our new experimental sound.”

“We took influence from big top favorites from the last few years including The Presets, Channel Tres, and Nine Inch Nails, and put them all together in a big, chaotic blender,” he continues.

Void Of Vision kicked off their Chronicles EP series with the first part, CHRONICLES I: LUST, back in October 2021. This first series of EPs was followed by CHRONICLES II: HEAVEN in April 2022. Combined, the three series of EPs form a 12-track album. The three have officially followed up on the band’s second album, 2019’s Hyperdaze after they released a remix album in early 2021.

The release of the EP CHRONICLES III: UNDERWORLD coincides with Void of Vision’s regional tour Hell Hell Hell which begins on November 11, 2022, in Hobart, Australia. The quartet joined Diamond Construct and The Beautiful Monument on the tour. The journey will feature a total of 11 shows through December 3, 2022, which concludes in Caloundra.

In 2023, Void Of Vision will appear on three of the inaugural Knotfest Australia dates. There, they would perform with bands such as Slipknot, Megadeth, Parkway Drive, Trivium, Northlane, In Flames, Knocked Loose, and The Story So Far.

Speaking to NME about the festival, Jack Bergin said, “It’s a different style of festival, and I think that’s what’s important about it. I’ve seen what it’s like overseas, and it’s all about the immersive experience and the visuals that suck you into that world.”

“You see it in all the other genres of music—like Splendor In The Grass and all the New Year’s festivals—but to have that kind of experience in our world, it’s a very special feeling, and I think people really appreciate the effort put in. This is Knotfest,” he continued.
