Ozzy Osbourne New Album – He has released the next new single from his star-studded new solo album, Patient Number 9. His new single this time is Degradation Rules, following June—which features legendary British guitarist Jeff Beck.
Not alone, Ozzy Osbourne performed with his former bandmate in Black Sabbath, Tony Iommi. The single was also released along with an animated music video on July 22, 2022. The music video itself features moving and swirling images animated by Mack Lawrence Studio.
Previously, the musician, nicknamed The Prince Of Darkness, has shared this work through his Twitter account by providing an audio snippet of this single Degradation Rules.
The Dark Lord is very enthusiastic about reuniting with the legendary Black Sabbath guitarist. He said, “Working with Tony was really great. He’s a riff master. No one can touch him in that. I just wish we had these songs for Black Sabbath’s 13th album.”
At first glance, this single reminds listeners of Black Sabbath with the song The Wizard. However, the four-minute song doesn’t sound exactly like a Black Sabbath song. This song features a number of touches of their signature arrangement. These include harmonica, dramatic tempo changes, and heavy riffs from Tony Iommi.
The song follows the story of the characters contained in the lyrics who go through “twisted little fantasy” with “sticky little magazines”; when he spends his time “gambling with tragedy and doom” he sinks into a world that is “addicted to debauchery.” This is explicitly pretty self-explanatory.
Behind that, the lyrics of the song “Degradation Rules” were also in the spotlight. In a chat with friend and fellow musician Billy Morrison on Sirius XM’s Boneyard channel, this Godfather of Heavy Metal hints at a theme that is a bit far from the nature of the godfather. Degradation Rules is the second single released by the Dark Lord from his solo album, Patient Number 9, which will be released on September 9, 2022. He gave a preview last month of the seven-and-a-half-minute title track, which features Jeff Beck on guitar.
Other rock guitar collaborators on Patient Number 9’s star-studded album include Eric Clapton, Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready, Queens of the Stone Age vocalist Josh Homme, and Zakk Wylde, solo guitarist for Ozzy Osbourne.

Additionally, the Ozzy Osbourne New Album will feature drummer Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, bassist Duff McKagan of Guns N’ Roses, bassist Robert Trujillo of Metallica, and posthumous performances by Taylor Hawkins, drummer for Foo Fighters. Chad Smith and Duff McKagan have also played the line on Ozzy Osbourne’s 2020 album, Ordinary Man.
Degradation Rules marks the first time Ozzy Osbourne has collaborated with Tony Iommi outside of Black Sabbath. Ozzy Osbourne admits it was really great to be working with Tony again—in a recent fan Q&A. “He’s a master of riffs. No one can touch him in that regard. I just wish we had these songs for Black Sabbath’s 13th album.”
Last June, Ozzy Osbourne’s wife and manager, Sharon Osbourne, said the singer was doing well and was recovering from major surgery. Sharon did not give any details about the nature of the operation, but she told British TV station The Talk it was a very large operation that would truly define the rest of her life.
