Nux Amp Academy for Guitar Review

Nux Amp Academy – It seems that the Amp-less format has become a trend lately among today’s musicians. This could be due to the normally luxurious lineup of pedals and amps that were not supported by technicians to bring them to the stage.

I think Nux Amp Academy, which is said to have inherited the NUX TSAC-2K (White-box Amp Modeling) algorithm, can be said to have succeeded in presenting the sound and feel of world-class tube amplifiers in a portable stomp-box case and become the choice of musicians who prioritize practicality.

This effect pedal also provides 12 IRs dedicated to the Choptones application and 16 user slots at 32bit/48kHz which can be uploaded via software.

Exactly like the features that are usually found in multi-effects at high prices. will also be able to add Reverb with 2 Alt buttons (Mode Room, Hall, Plate, Spring, and Damp) which must be selected via the app. You can also use Dirt Box FX with a selection of effects including Compression, Boost, Overdrive, and a 6-band EQ.

The effects can also be connected to a computer and record tracks, run Plug-Ins, and even stream live with Amp Academy. This USB Audio interface capability is a tempting offer for guitarists who want a complete package.

Use of NUX Academy on Stage

Add Amp Academy to any pedal lineup and connect to a mixer or PA system for incredible tone, control, and flexibility during live performance.

A couple of things to note is that it’s not recommended to run the Amp Academy “in front” of the guitar amp or plugged into the amp’s inputs as the purpose of the Amp Academy is to transmit amp and cab sound. If you’re using the same pedalboard in both the amp and direct-out situations, simply toggle the IR OUT switch to the DOWN position to bypass the IR signal when using the pedalboard with a guitar amp. My suggestion is to connect the effect output to the power amp or return the amp.

Use of NUX Academy in Studio

Without setting up an amp or microphone, plug this Amp Academy directly into the recording interface for an incredible guitar tone. If You want to use the IR signal for 1/4″, simply turn the IR OUT switch to the UP position.

Briefly hold down the A/B footswitch and turn on the pedal if you want to activate/disengage the IR signal with ON OUT. With IR ON, the A/B indication will flash three times. IR OFF: The flashing A/B indicator will NOT flash.
