Riverside Band Release New Single and Music Video, “Self Aware”
Riverside Band, a progressive rock unit from Polish/Polandia, will soon be releasing their new album entitled ID.Entity on January 20, 2023. Along with the announcement of the new album, Riverside also released a new single that will be included in the album, Self-Aware.
The progressive rock members removed the edited version of the single, leaving it three minutes shorter than the unedited version. The results have been extraordinary. This song tells about social changes that have occurred recently.
“Self-Aware is a song that sums up the whole album, and talks about how hard it is these days to live in society and ignore all social changes, about how you can’t just be passive, ‘turn off yourselves,’ or ‘hide deep inside. in the woods,'” said Riverside frontman Mariusz Duda.
“We need each other to change something in our lives. Not everything can be done alone. ‘I have to be better than others, I have to be the best’ is not a good mantra,” he continued.
“We need cooperation to achieve something, and most importantly that this message does not come from solo artists, but from bands, whose success lies largely in working together within the band and interacting with their listeners,” continued Mariusz Duda.
Their latest album, ID.Entity, is the unit’s eighth studio album to be recorded and mixed at two studios, namely The Boogie Town Studio in Otwock with Paweł Marciniak and at Studio Serakos in Warsaw with Magda and Robert Srzedniccy. The album was released via InsideOutMusic, a longtime international partner of Riverside.
The mastering process was done by Robert Szydło and produced by Mariusz Duda himself. The ID.Entity album artwork was created by Polish artist, Jarek Kubicki.

Meanwhile, Mariusz Duda commented on the single I’m Done With You. He said, “We live in a time of anger and helplessness. In times dominated by big technology, populists, conspiracy theories, hate, greedy corporations causing the planet and human nature to die at an accelerated pace.”

Riverside band is a progressive rock band from Warsaw, Poland. They were founded in 2001 by friends Mariusz Duda, Piotr Grudziński, Piotr Kozieradzki, and Jacek Melnicki, who shared a passion for progressive rock and heavy metal.
Frontman and vocalist Mariusz Duda is the band’s main lyricist and composer. Initially, he was a fan of electronic, ambient, and experimental music from a number of bands such as Radiohead, Massive Attack, Dead Can Dance, Tangerine Dream, and Peter Gabriel. Riverside can be described as a blend of atmospheric rock and metal elements, producing a sound similar to Porcupine Tree, Pain of Salvation, and Dream Theater.
