Slipknot New Album Titled “YEN” the Vibrant

Slipknot New Album – A single titled Yen was re-launched by Slipknot Band. The single is taken from Slipknot’s seventh album, The End, So Far, which will serve as the next preview for the album. The new album will be released on September 30, 2022, later via Roadrunner Records. The album is a follow-up to their 2019 album We Are Not Your Kind.

This single is a new effort by this Iowa metal band with a fairly new sound. In a recent exclusive interview, vocalist Corey Taylor shared the fact that “Yen is probably one of my favorite songs we’ve ever made. And it’s a great and cool departure for us because there’s definitely a Slipknot element to it.”

“But then some of the music made us touch our inner Tom Waits in a weird way, you know? This is really cool. But then there’s almost like a Type O [Negative] approach to it. I think people will really dig into it when they hear about it.”

Slipknot Band New Album 2022

When discussing Yen on Slipknot New Album, as well as snippets of the previously recorded ‘blues’ track, Corey Taylor continued, “Those two songs were very, very my favorite, because they left but you can still feel that it’s us. Because we’ve reached a certain point in our careers, and we’re still doing things like that, it really brings us a strange joy. Listening back to this album is very satisfying. And I just hope people dig it up as much as we do.”

The song opens in a very dark and ambient sound field that sounds a lot like something one would find in Iowa. Holding on to the expectations the band has set in their claim that this upcoming album will be a mix. from the Iowa album and in their third album, Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses) (2004).

The previous two singles were much more aggressive, closer to the traditional groove/nu metal that Slipknot had been honing over the years. However, as the song progresses, it grows to seem non-existent, instead being replaced with a more somber melody and accentuating harmony. The chorus is especially the highlight of this track, a melody that feels very impactful against the finer instrumentation hit by the exploding drums.

After the bridge, the growl finally appears, but only briefly to counter the melody from the previous part. However, it doesn’t feel “beatdowny” or aggressive, rather the growls used in a tasteful, emotional way, feel very fitting to the development of the song.

On Slipknot New Album, the song then repeats the final chorus to wrap the pack nicely. Despite following a somewhat conventional structure, the overall song sounds uniquely constructed. That can perhaps be credited to his more unconventional sound for modern-day Slipknot, which is arguably a little soft on fans. But regardless of their origin, the oddities are all very welcome.

Yen is a great addition to the track list on the upcoming album. It gives a completely different feel to the previous two singles, leaning more towards the heavier side. But make no mistake, this song is still heavy, although more emotional than usual.

Regardless, there are plenty of new listeners and fans of Slipknot, and it serves as more of a feed for the excitement ahead of the album’s release.

The single Yen is a continuation of Slipknot’s efforts to release the single towards the release of its new album in September. At the end of last July, the band, whose entire personnel wore scary masks, released the first single for their new album entitled The Dying Song (Time To Sing). Percussionist Shawn Crahan reveals that this is part of new music, new art, and new beginnings.

The Dying Sing (Time To Sing) itself marks a new era for Slipknot New Album. This single was also released to follow the single The Chapeltown Rag which was released last year. In this new era, Slipknot also appeared with a new mask appearance, which of course you can see in the following music video.
