RØRY Share Music Video “Help Your Friends Get Sober”
RØRY – Following the release of his debut EP, Good Die Young, which was released last June, RØRY premiered a new music video for one of the standout tracks on his EP: Help Your Friends Get Sober.
The song went viral on TikTok, with hundreds of thousands of viewers instantly hooked on the powerful message behind the lyrics. In an interview with Kerrang!, RØRY said: “I have written more than 10 songs called ‘awaken’. And finally, I was right. I want to talk about the reality of addiction. Not by preaching. But in a way that might really connect, and maybe help someone.”
“We have a mental health crisis, especially among young men, and their coping mechanisms? Go out with friends, pop in a few bags of cocaine, and stay up all weekend. That’s not what they need. They need a chat. A hug. And maybe some support gets some help.”
From the accompanying music video, RØRY continues: “There are 100 friends who will help you drink. But very little will help you come to your senses. This video shows what addiction looks like to me. 48 hours awake. Afraid to see daylight. Ring the alarm at 8 am because you guys can’t stop. I think it’s all normal, I just love sesh. Doesn’t everyone do that?”
“One conversation with one person changed and probably saved my life. For one of my friends though… it’s too late. He died in his 30s. If this makes one person think that they are struggling, that maybe they need help, if it starts a conversation between friends… that’s what it’s for here.”
The EP Good Die Young is extensive documentation and acknowledgment of the last 10 years of his life. RØRY said that the EP Good Die Young was made for his mother. RØRY added that he has poured his broken and lost heart into this recording. His hope is that he can understand himself, understand his 20s.

RØRY is the moniker of Roxanne Emery. He is known as a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer based in London, England. He is the younger brother of music producer and DJ Gareth Emery.

While the EP Good Die Young, which was just released this year, became his first mini album.
Roxanne Emery co-wrote Post Malone for DJ Sam Feldt featuring Rani, which went platinum in the UK, Australia, and Canada. This song has reached 400 million streams. Other writing credits include Feel My Needs listed on BBC Radio 1 A by Weiss, Peace Alison Wonderland, and Wildlife from JAUZ + Kiiara. His releases have garnered over half a billion streams to date.
