Mikkey Dee’s Recovery Delays Scorpions’ 60th Anniversary Las Vegas Residency

Scorpions 60th anniversary – The legendary rock band Scorpions has announced the postponement of their highly anticipated 60th anniversary residency in Las Vegas. The decision comes as drummer Mikkey Dee continues his recovery from a serious illness that required extensive medical care.

Earlier this year, on January 2, Mikkey Dee, renowned for his previous work with Motorhead, revealed that he had been hospitalized due to a life-threatening case of sepsis, a severe blood infection.

A Critical Health Scare for Mikkey Dee

Mikkey shared that he underwent multiple surgeries to combat the infection. “I had three operations to remove dead and infected tissue. The experience was incredibly challenging. If I had waited just one more day, I might have been playing drums with Lemmy in heaven,” Mikkey stated in an interview with NME.

The situation began with what seemed to be a minor ankle sprain, which later escalated to a sepsis diagnosis. Fortunately, Mikkey has since returned home and is focusing on his recovery.

Scorpions’ Announcement of Postponement

Last weekend, Scorpions, who have had Mikkey Dee as their drummer since 2016, took to social media to inform fans about the postponement. Originally set to begin in February 2025, the residency has been rescheduled to August 2025 to prioritize Mikkey’s health and well-being.

In their heartfelt message, the band wrote:
“We regret to announce that due to Mikkey Dee’s ongoing recovery after his hospital stay, we have decided to postpone the ‘Coming Home to Las Vegas’ residency until August 2025. Mikkey’s health and well-being are our top priorities. We wish him a full recovery and cannot wait to perform for you all again soon!”

Rescheduled Residency Details

Fans eagerly awaiting Scorpions’ Las Vegas residency now have to wait a few more months, but the band remains committed to delivering an unforgettable performance once Mikkey is fully recovered. The “Coming Home to Las Vegas” residency is expected to be a grand celebration of the band’s 60 years of rock legacy.
