Magnolia Park Band Release New Single “Don’t be Racist”
Magnolia Park Band has shared a new single titled Don’t Be Racist. Based on the title alone, You must have guessed what message this band from Orlando, Florida, United States wanted to convey.
With lyrics like, ‘They told me I should stay in my own lane / Whatcha doing here this ain’t your race’ and, ‘Fuck you I won’t do what you tell me / You got your knee on my neck and I can’t breathe,’ Magnolia Park explained that their new song is about standing up and fighting racism.
“We hope this song brings awareness of racism in the music, rock, and pop-punk industries so that the next generation of POC musicians are better off.”

Before releasing the song Don’t Be Racist, Magnolia Park Band first released a song called Feel Something. The song, which was released in June 2022, is the result of a collaboration with Derek Sanders.
Talking about the song Feel Something, guitarist Tristan Torres explained that his inspiration was about wanting to live in the moment and wanting to be present.
“The recording process is very fast. Fred came with the chorus and we finished the instrumental and verse together in a few hours. We were lucky enough to befriend Derek from the Mayday Parade and he jumped onto the track. The music video is crazy, we even asked some of our fans (family) to join in and dress up as our Raw Characters. We had fun jumping around and hanging out with everyone.”
Unlike most black musicians who struggle with rap and R&B music, Magnolia Park is really focused on the alternative rock genre. This is what makes the listeners may not think that the main vocalist is black.
The band from the United States is under the auspices of the Epitaph Records label and consists of six members, two of whom are black. Throughout the career they started in 2018, they have released one EP and one studio album.’

Magnolia Park’s EP Heart Eater was recorded in Los Angeles with the help of producers Matt Malpass, Andrew Wade, and Andy Karpovck. Starting with a pop-punk sensibility while staying true to its unique style, Magnolia Park incorporates elements of hip-hop, emo, and alternative pop into their eclectic sound mix.
Magnolia Park Takes inspiration from its fun and colorful aesthetic. That is reflected in the strange landscape of otherworldly sounds that can be heard in Heart Eater.
