Aaron Kwok Mesmerizes Fans at ICE BSD: A Night to Remember

Legendary Hong Kong superstar Aaron Kwok held his first-ever concert in Indonesia, titled ICONIC World Tour 2025 Live in Jakarta, on the evening of January 11, 2025, at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD, Tangerang. The spectacular stage setup and Aaron’s energetic dance moves captivated the audience throughout the night.

Although the concert was scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM WIB, it started slightly late. Around 7:20 PM, Aaron Kwok made his grand entrance with the song EXIT, greeted by cheers from fans who had long awaited the arrival of one of Hong Kong’s legendary ‘Four Heavenly Kings.’

“How are you? Thank you,” Aaron greeted the crowd warmly before launching into his opening song, Why Did I Let You Go. He engaged with the audience, asking whether they preferred him to speak in Cantonese or Mandarin, to which fans responded enthusiastically for Mandarin.

“How long have you been waiting for me? I’ve been waiting for years too, and finally, I’m here in Jakarta,” he said, earning thunderous applause from the crowd.

Throughout the concert, Aaron charmed fans by interacting frequently, even repeating Indonesian phrases such as “Apa kabar?”, “Terima kasih,” and “Aku cinta kalian,” sparking laughter and cheers from the audience.

Aaron performed numerous hits that evening, including Should I Quietly Walk Away, a song released in January 1991 that solidified his fame among Mandarin-speaking fans. Other iconic tracks performed included Para Para Sakura, Love Call, City of the Wild, I Want to Say I Love You Secretly, and many more, mostly in Cantonese.

For nearly three hours, the 59-year-old artist impressed the crowd with his vibrant singing and dancing, demonstrating a level of energy that belied his age. The stunning stage visuals added to the electrifying atmosphere of the concert.

As the night drew to a close, Aaron, who debuted in 1984, expressed his hope to hold concerts in Indonesia annually. He ended the concert with his hit song Can Not Stop Loving You, inviting fans to dance along with him.

“I actually hoped Aaron Kwok would sing more old hits, but his performance was amazing, especially his dancing. It’s impressive at his age,” said Ivan Setiadi, reflecting on the concert.

“It felt like going back to my school days,” said Indrawaty, who attended the show with her child.

Aaron Kwok’s ICONIC World Tour kicked off in Hong Kong on August 13 at the Hung Hom Coliseum and continued to Taipei, Taiwan, for three nights in December 2024, before making its way to Jakarta.
