The Used Band Release New Single “F*uck You”
The Used Band, an American alternative rock unit, is back in action again. The Used also officially released their new single titled F*ck You and hit fans again with their rocky music. The new single was released on October 21, 2022.
The song titled F*ck You is quite in accordance with what they want to express. Vocalist Bert McCracken succinctly explained: “There are moments in our lives when we just have to say: Fuck you!”
The track is out now through Hassle Records, and follows their latest album, Heartwork (2020)—which Kerrang! in its four-star review as “one of the most sensational comebacks of 2020.” This song was also released before they made their appearance at the When We Were Young Festival that fans had been waiting for at the end of October.
The song was also released along with an age-restricted music video on YouTube. The music video itself contains video footage of The Used when they perform happily and sing with their fans with the sound of the song in the background. Check out the F*ck You music video from The Used below.
The vocalist of The Used Band, Bert McCracken, has collaborated with a number of world rock stars. Among them is his collaboration with Machine Gun Kelly and Yungblud for a single titled Body Bag which was released in September 2020. The song is featured on the Sold Out deluxe edition of Machine Gun Kelly’s new album, Tickets To My Downfall, along with five other new songs. Also included is a cover of Misery Business from Paramore.
Speaking to Rock Sound about the single Body Bag, Machine Gun Kelly said that Yungblud sounded like a new version of Bert McCracken. Machine Gun Kelly himself praised Travis Barker’s work on the track and revealed, “Their voices register in the same vein and with the same ferocity. They can both do a gut-wrenching scream on the field.”
“I’d like to say it’s one of the most unique Travis drum beats I’ve ever heard him play on the entire record and the outro is pop-punk at its most classic. It’s one of those things where I’m really glad it’s on our record. It’s just a bunch of ‘Woahs’ but that’s how they come in. I think Yungblud did the freestyle,” he continued. Then in January 2021, during the lockdown caused by the last pandemic, band members from Mastodon, Limp Bizkit, The Used, and more, got together to record Jane’s Addiction’s Mountain Song.
The single, released on January 12, 2021, is part of Kings Of Quarantine—a musical project by Jason Rockman and Kevin Jardine of Slaves Of Dope, along with Mastodon guitarist Bill Kelliher. They all put together a collaborative cover which also featured Wes Borland (Limp Bizkit) on guitar and Tanner Wayne (In Flames) on drums.

The line-up is also joined on screen by Veruca Salt’s Louise Post, Filter’s Richard Patrick, The Used’s Bert McCracken, and 311’s P-Nut, who perform from their respective homes and studio spaces.
The cover of the song was released to help the organization Roadie Relief, whose mission is to help as many roadies as possible without secure livelihoods as a result of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
The single Mountain Song was released in 1988 and appeared on Jane’s Addiction’s Nothing’s Shocking album.
Meanwhile, The Used, who returned to action this year at the When We Were Young Festival at the end of last October, performed at least nine tracks in their setlist. Among them is A Box Full of Sharp Objects, The Bird and the Worm, Take It Away, Listening, The Taste of Ink, All That I’ve Got, Buried Myself Alive, Blood on My Hands, and Pretty Handsome Awkward.
The Used is an alternative rock band from Orem, Utah, United States. The band was formed in 2001. The group consists of vocalist Bert McCracken, bassist Jeph Howard, drummer Dan Whitesides, and guitarist Joey Bradford. Former members include Quinn Allman, Branden Steineckert, and Justin Shekoski.
So far, The Used Band has scored at least eight studio albums, starting from The Used (2002), In Love and Death (2004), Lies for the Liars (2007), Artwork (2009), Vulnerable (2012), Imaginary Enemy ( 2014), The Canyon (2017), and Heartwork (2020).
