JAY-Z, The Most Grammy Nominated of All Time

Jay-Z has now emerged with the latest news that he has become the most nominated musician at the Grammy Awards of all time. This achievement was announced after Beyonce’s husband was included in three nominations for the 2022 Grammy awards. The rapper now has a total of 83 nominations and has won 23 wins.

This achievement officially surpassed the previous top position holder, Quincy Jones, who had a total of 80 nominations. And Jay-Z himself has been nominated for 18 years since 1999 at the Grammy Awards.

In addition, Paul McCartney’s position has now risen after getting two nominations in one of the rock categories. Whereas previously, Paul McCartney was in the same position as Jay-Z’s wife, Beyonce. Paul McCartney now has 81 nominations, one more than Quincy Jones.

Following Jones and Beyonce, there are Stevie Wonder and the late classical conductor Georg Solti, who received 74 nominations, and film-music composers Henry Mancini and John Williams, with 72 nominations.

Variety reports that Jay-Z won his first Grammy in 1999. Two of the awards were for his classic album, Vol. 2…Hard Knock Life, and another for his collaboration with Jermaine Dupri, Money Ain’t AThang.

Even though Jay-Z won, he insisted on boycotting the award. According to him, it was triggered because DMX was not recognized by the Grammys because the rapper got two number one albums in a year.

Meanwhile, Billie Eilish, Doja Cat, Justin Bieber, Olivia Rodrigo, J. Cole, and Jon Batiste lead with the most nominations for the 2022 Grammy Awards. The awards show will be broadcast live on CBS from Los Angeles on January 31, 2022.
