We Came As Romans Announce New Album, Darkbloom

We Came As Romans, the metalcore outfit from the United States, is back with an announcement you’ve been waiting for. The announcement was a breakdown of their first album in five years. The new album is titled Darkbloom, the album that will follow up on his previous album, Cold Like War, which was released in 2017.

We Came As Romans describes their upcoming release as a light in the dark with the power of every We Came As Romans album before it.

We Came As Romans guitarist Josh Moore shared, “We’re so excited to finally announce the release of our next record, Darkbloom. This will be our first record in five years, and we’d like to thank all of you for being patient with us during this time. we’re figuring out if we can, and how we can keep moving forward as a band.”

“We wrote this record about all the feelings we felt, and all the emotional places we lived in, navigating the loss of our brother Kyle Pavone. Each song is about a different part of our lives over the past few years, and insight into the struggles we had, and how we were able to get to where we are today. We hope you all can dive deeper into these songs and connect with us—and if you feel what we feel, we hope these songs can help you move forward,” continued Josh Moore.

He also added this recording is dedicated to Kyle Pavone, “We will never forget you, and we will never stop saying your name.”

Kyle Pavone reportedly died tragically in 2018. He joined We Came As Romans helping on clean vocals, keyboards, synthesizers, and programming since 2008 following the departure of former vocalist Chris Moore.

Along with the album announcement, Josh Moore also shared the meaning behind their new single, Plagued. Josh said that he and his band had been waiting a long time to release this song. They were very excited because they finally managed to release it. Josh said that the single Plagued started writing in January 2020, so they are happy to finally be able to share the single with their fans.

The single was co-written with Nick Sampson, who had previously posted a short video of the idea for a riff he was working on at the time. Josh Moore was happy too. Eventually, he went to Nick Sampson and finished the song together. Later, their friend, Ryan Leitru, was also involved in composing the song so they all wrote the lyrics for the song.

Josh Moore added to his story, “More than a year later, while we were in the studio recording an album with Drew Fulk, we spruced up some parts and the song was done! And now, more than two years later, we can share Plagued with you!”

Lyrically, Plagued is about being part of the grieving process they all go through. They feel like the suffering to be faced, then the anger to be faced turns us all into different people. When you see yourself turning into someone you don’t want, overwhelmed and overwhelmed by sadness. This is a very difficult thing to live with, and they hope this song Plagued can help anyone who feels the same way.
