Vacations Band Unveils Long-Awaited Album “No Place Like Home” Inspired by Personal Journey
Vacations Band – In an eagerly anticipated move, the Australian band Vacations, a two-time platinum-certified group, has finally dropped their latest album titled “No Place Like Home.” This musical creation follows the personal journey of lead vocalist Campbell Burns, who has been diagnosed with Pure OCD (or “Pure O”), a subtype of obsessive-compulsive disorder characterized by intrusive and uncontrollable thoughts.
The album draws inspiration from Burns’ experience of navigating life with this condition while simultaneously pursuing a career in music and embarking on global tours. Themes of self-growth and sexuality further enrich the narrative of this highly awaited album.
For the release of their lead single “Over You,” Vacations Band enlisted the talents of Georgia Maq, a former member of the band Camp Cope, to star in the accompanying music video. Explaining the creative direction, Vacations expressed, “I thought it would be a lot of fun to explore the idea of ‘Over You’ as a journey of self-obsession. The highs and lows of the ego can make the visualization of this song more humorous, in my opinion. We saved the funny and absurd moments until the end.”

Initially planning for Campbell to play the protagonist and therapist in the video, logistical challenges arose as the band and Jax Anderson’s exceptional team were not in the same city for the shoot. To fill the void, they were fortunate to have Georgia Maq, renowned through Camp Cope, step in. “We are incredibly lucky for her involvement, and her charisma truly brings the necessary joy to this music video,” they stated in their press release.
The album “No Place Like Home” by Vacations promises a unique blend of musicality, introspection, and a visual journey, encapsulating the essence of the band’s evolution.
