The Smashing Pumpkins the World is a Vampire – US alternative rock unit, The Smashing Pumpkins, released the official music video for their single, Empires. This single is one of the opening singles ahead of the release of their new album, Atum: A Rock Opera in Three Acts, as well as their North American tour, The World Is A Vampire.

Atum: A Rock Opera in Three Acts will be released on May 5, 2023, and is the sequel to 1995’s Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness and 2000’s Machina/Machine Of God. The Smashing Pumpkins features 33 songs in three acts.
The album Atum: A Rock Opera in Three Acts has been written and produced by frontman Billy Corgan for the past few years. Another 22 songs have been released to date, with Beguiled continuing to climb the Active Rock (peaking at No. 6) and Alternative Radio Charts (No. 12). The third act of the album will come in a special edition box set featuring all 33 of the album’s tracks plus an additional 10 previously unreleased tracks.
Recently, The Smashing Pumpkins themselves have announced The World Is A Vampire tour for their 26th North American leg. Produced by Live Nation, the tour will kick off on Friday, July 28, 2023, at The Chelsea at the Cosmopolitan, Las Vegas. The tour will feature special guests from Interpol, Stone Temple Pilots, and Rival Sons as support on various dates, as well as some of the world’s greatest champions from the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA), who will be competing in most cities.
The World Is A Vampire Tour has sold out more than 30,000 capacity shows in Mexico City this year, as well as in cities across Australia this spring. The success of this tour also led them to expand the tour to more countries in the future.
In a statement, Billy Corgan said: “I grew up in a world where I needed to know bands like Siouxsie and The Banshees and The Cure existed. It meant there was a place for people like me to come together and be a part of. That’s all I can say. about The World Is A Vampire.”

A true alternative festival, where all self-proclaimed freaks and outsiders alike can come together and party,” continued Billy Corgan.
Additionally, Disney+ revealed a special guest for the upcoming mockumentary series The Muppets Mayhem, featuring Billy Corgan. The entire first season will be available to stream on May 10, 2023.
