The HU Announces Their New Album “Rumble of Thunder”
The HU Rumble of Thunder – Mongolian folk rock and heavy metal unit The HU has made an important announcement. The announcement was about the details of their second album, entitled Rumble Of Thunder. The HU’s second album will be released on September 2, 2022, via Better Noise.
This Rumble Of Thunder album is a follow-up to their first album, The Gereg, which was released in 2019. These Mongolian rockers who combine traditional instruments from their home country with modern US hard rock previously recorded all of The Gereg’s album material in their homeland, Mongolia, and reflected their pride in their culture.
Along with the announcement of this new album “The HU Rumble of Thunder”, The HU also released a single titled Black Thunder. In its press release, The HU revealed that Black Thunder is the crown in their second album. They also released a cinematic music video which was divided into two parts. The Black Thunder music video conveys a visualization of the core values of men’s lives.
It is noted that Dashdondog Bayarmagnai acted as director for the cinematic music video for the first part of the single Black Thunder. Check out the latest music video from The HU for the single Black Thunder below.
The producer of the Black Thunder music video, Dashka, had a unique location in Mongolia to shoot the video. They all had fun riding horses in the vast meadows of the countryside. The HU itself hopes that their pride in their own culture can be accepted because The HU itself also aims to bring joy and part of their culture through the Black Thunder music video.
For his new album later, The HU said it would include the single Black Thunder, along with many new songs. They also can’t wait for listeners to listen to and enjoy this album, “As much as we enjoyed recording it,” they said.
The recording of the upcoming album will also include the single This Is Mongol which was released last May. The single This Is Mongol alone has garnered over a million streams in less than two months.

Last May, The HU released a new single, This Is Mongol. This song is the first released preview of The HU’s upcoming second album. As mentioned above, the new album is a follow-up to 2019’s acclaimed debut, The Gereg.
The song, which features the traditional chant “Hu! Hu! Hu!”, is accompanied by a music video filmed by John Connor Hammond in the Mojave Desert in Nevada, United States. The music video shows the band members racing quad bikes before performing the song in front of a series of mysterious black monoliths.
“This environment reminds us of the Gobi Desert in Mongolia. We enjoyed shooting the video, it happened during our tour and it gave us a little break to reminisce about home. The song fits perfectly into the environment where we make the music video,” said The HU vocalist Gala.
“Creating this song means a lot to me. We announced our arrival through music and especially through this song. In these uncertain times, I hope we bring positivity, empowerment, and strength to fight for better days,” said producer Dasha.

This summer, The HU is playing in North America with Megadeth, Five Finger Death Punch, and Fire From The Gods. They will then roll out their Black Thunder Tour to the UK and Europe later this year. The tour will begin in Oslo, Norway on October 26, 2022, and conclude at the London Roundhouse on December 9, 2022.
The HU is a Mongolian folk rock and heavy metal band formed in 2016. The members play traditional Mongolian instrumental instruments, such as Morin khuur, Tovshuur, and characteristic Mongolian throat singing. The band calls their style of music “hunnu rock”. The HU was inspired by Hunnu, the ancient Mongol/Turkish empire, known as Hünnü in Mongolia. Some of the band’s lyrics include ancient Mongolian war cries and poetry.
The HU personnel include Galbadrakh “Gala” Tsendbaatar who plays the morin khuur and throat singer; Nyamjantsan “Jaya” Galsanjamts who plays tumur hhuur, tsuur, throat singer; Enkhsaikhan “Enkush” Batjargal morin khuur performer and throat singer; and Temuulen “Temka” Naranbaatar playing tovshuur and backing vocals.
Their first album, The Gereg, was released in September 2019 and received an overwhelming response from music listeners worldwide. In fact, they are highly respected for bringing Mongolian traditions to the world.
