Seymour Duncan Blackout Guitar Pickup Review

Seymour Duncan Blackout – In addition to the EMG 81 which is well-known among rock/metal guitarists as a reliable pickup to produce fierce sounds, there are also pickups from other manufacturers that have the same capability. Seymour Duncan Blackout, an active pickup from Seymour Duncan that “says” has a wider frequency than most other active pickups, has an advantage that is, it is able to produce a smaller “hum” than other active pickups.

Judging from the magnitude of the output, this pickup has a character similar to EMG; high-output pickups. The difference is that the frequency range captured by this pickup is “slightly” wider than other active pickups, lower and also higher. Another plus, this pickup is still capable of removing the wooden character of the paired guitar.

Overall, you could say this pickup is quite unique because (for the size of an active pickup) it is still able to bring out the wooden character of the guitar. Unlike other active pickups, which tend to be the same when paired on all guitars, and when it comes to buzzing amps, it’s clear, after all, this pickup falls into the category of high-output pickups.
