Sennheiser e609 Microphone Review
Sennheiser e609 – Maybe for most guitarists, it’s no stranger to finding a Shure SM57 microphone both on stage and in the recording studio. The SM57 is indeed one of the mics that are widely used, especially for mic-ing cabinets from guitar amps, besides the price being said to be cheap, this mic is also very simple to use. However, in this article, we will not discuss the mic, but the competitors of the mic; Sennheiser e609.
This mic is arguably lighter when compared to the SM57, although the first impression that this mic gives is “fragile” in fact, this mic is still reliable for all my needs both on stage and in the studio.

In terms of sound; We personally think the Sennheiser e609 mic is more “round” at low frequencies and smoother at high frequencies when compared to the SM57. We realized this while doing Palm muting on the guitar. This mic produces a more “big” sound when compared to the SM57. This mic also produces less hiss than the SM57.
Even though from this article the Sennheiser e609 mic at first glance looks better than the SM57, for stage purposes, I still use the SM57 combined with the e609 mic, I personally think the e609 mic is the right match when juxtaposed with the SM57. Besides the price is still economical.
