Press Club Band Announces New Album “Endless Motion”
Press Club Band – Following their fantastic start at the Download Festival this summer, Melbourne’s alternative rock/punk quartet, Press Club, has been building on their momentum. Press Club has officially announced their latest album, Endless Motion.
Frank Lees, Press Club’s drummer, said of the recording of the new album, “This album is the culmination of years of inactivity and introspection, false beginnings and disappointments, wildfires and pandemics. It was those factors that forced us to dig inside of us to sculpt a piece that was as uncompromising and raw as our previous releases, but executed with more polish and finesse than we thought we were capable of.”
Endless Motion itself is scheduled to be released on October 14, 2022, through Hassle Records.
Bold, energetic, and expansive is the idea of movement that has always been the main ethos of the Press Club. After making music together for 12 years, this Melbourne-based punk rock unit resisted stagnation. Many things are constantly pushing them to change and develop in a scene that remains largely the same.
The album Endless Motion is the ultimate artistic statement about the past three years. The collective and global struggle has provided the material and circumstances for Press Club to emerge as one of the most exciting and relevant bands of 2022.
Along with the announcement of his new album, Press Club Band also released a new single entitled Eugene. Vocalist Natalie Foster explains that Press Club’s newest song is about “getting stuck in a cycle of having so many things running through your head, things you need to say but can’t express for fear of being taken the wrong way.”
A second offering based on a new record, Eugene follows his previous single Canceled, his first self-produced work, which premiered on triple j and received endorsement as the BBC’s Rockest Records, plus spot airplay on Radio 1 and BBC 6 Music in the UK.
Press Club’s new album promises a balanced mix of indie rock, punk grit, and fun alternative rock. They try to strike a balance between anecdotal and extrospective.
On their first two albums—which garnered critical success from teen commentary Late Teens (2018) and frenetic freedom from Wasted Energy (2019)—Press Club proved themselves to be a thrilling new voice in the global DIY punk rock scene.
The highly anticipated third album could not have been made in more different circumstances than their second album, which was written on tour and recorded within a six-day window on their calendar. Fun and speed are the order of the day. There were plans to record Endless Motion in Berlin in 2020 but as the pandemic shut the world down, the Press Club offered the opportunity to reconsider all of their proposed material.
With a trip well and truly up and running, Press Club has just returned from three smoldering weeks across Europe and the UK playing at Download UK festivals as well as Hurricane and Southside in Germany. October and November will see Press Club take Endless Motion on the road playing across Australia, the UK, Ireland, France, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria, the Czech Republic, and the Netherlands.

Inspired by works such as The Who and Hüsker Dü, Press Club is an alternative rock/punk quartet from Melbourne, Australia. The band formed in 2016 and quickly rose to prominence on the local scene for their loud and brash songs like Suburbia and Headwreck.
Press Club Band consists of vocalist Natalie Foster, guitarist Greg Rietwyk, bass guitarist Rufio MacRae, and drummer Frank Lees. This group is made up of several different bands. They spent 2017 writing material and performing throughout Melbourne, gaining a growing and committed fan base.
In 2018, their single Suburbia caught the attention of several Australian radio stations and the band was subsequently selected to perform at the NYE on the Hill and Falls festival. Mid-2018 saw the group recording and producing their debut album in their native Brunswick.
The quartet chose to record entirely to tape and rely solely on analog equipment to achieve the raw, smoldering elements of their sound. They performed a number of shows across Australia and the UK before performing the album Late Teens in January 2019. They toured to promote the record with the Smith Street Band throughout the early part of the year and quickly returned in August 2019 with a second show. The full-length album Wasted Energy features the song Thinking About You.
