Nothing But Thieves Share The Latest Track “Overcome”
Nothing But Thieves recently shared a new song called Overcome which was released on May 12, 2023. The song is taken from their forthcoming fourth album, Dead Club City, following on from their lead single, Welcome To The DCC which was released earlier this year.

Talking about the new track, the band said: “Overcome has always felt like a ‘throw your stuff in the bag and go’ song. Dead Club City would definitely appeal to someone like that. We all struggle with something, so having a song on an album that explains why someone would want change feels right.”
A statement on their upcoming 11-track album said that the overall narrative is shaped by the different characters and storylines from in and around the city. It continues: “Is it shared consciousness? Another planet? The next corporate vacant lot? Heaven? Or somewhere else?”
The band also recently announced a UK and Ireland tour later this year. They will start on October 31 2023 in Glasgow and continue to a number of dates in November to several cities in England such as Bournemouth, Manchester, Swansea, Birmingham, and London, until closing in Dublin.
Back in 2021, the band consisting of Conor Mason (vocals, guitars), Joe Langridge-Brown (guitars), Dominic Craik (guitars, keyboards), Philip Blake (bass), and James Price (drums) released a five-song EP. , which served as the companion release to the band Southend’s third album, Moral Panic.
“Moral Panic II was something we decided to do only after Part I was all mixed, mastered, and recorded pressed. It feels like we weren’t done with the Moral Panic theme yet—I think partly because we haven’t been able to tour the project yet, it didn’t feel right to continue. But We also had plenty of time to rate the album and explore some avenues we felt the album might have missed,” the band said in a statement at the time.
They continued: “In that way, it was important that Moral Panic II consisted of songs that were genuinely fresh and newly written rather than songs that didn’t end up on the album, which is how a traditional deluxe version would work.
“There’s a familiarity, but we’re also really honing in on a new side of the band. ‘Part II’ completely complements ‘Part I’—two parts to be enjoyed as one project,” the statement continued.
The past few years have been quite the ride for five-piece Southend, UK band Nothing But Thieves. The band has amassed over 1.2 million album sales worldwide, 2 billion worldwide streams, and 250 million video views.
Additionally, they have built a loyal and wide following for their influential alt-rock sound and achieved global success with numerous gold and platinum records around the world, including the UK, Australia, Russia, Netherlands, South Korea, and Poland.

Nothing But Thieves followed their album later that year with the EP Moral Panic II, with both projects forming Moral Panic (The Complete Edition) in 2021. The album Moral Panic follows the EP What Did You Think When You Made Me This Way (2018), an album they are most notable for Broken Machine (2017), which peaked at #2 on the UK album chart, and their debut self-titled album, Nothing But Thieves.
The band toured Moral Panic in 2021 and 2022 with headline shows and festival dates in the UK and Europe, including their biggest London headline show at the O2 Arena and a headline show with an audience of 17,000 at the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Nothing But Thieves also performed alongside a live support slot with the Rolling Stones in Lyon, France.
