I’m a Mess, New Single, Collaboration of Avril Lavigne and Yungblud
After working together last year and blowing up the internet with their showcase I’m With You, YUNGBLUD will star in Avril Lavigne’s new single, I’m A Mess.
The pair also put some flair into the single in quite a drastic way: with YUNGBLUD cutting Avril’s signature long hair into a bob. While the video showing their haircuts looks like clever work on Dom’s part, the promo photos for the single further show that he did a very good job.
I’m A Mess (featuring YUNGBLUD) by Avril Lavigne will be released on November 3, 2022.
Avril Lavigne’s music career began in 1999; at that time he won a radio contest to appear with Canadian singer, Shania Twain. Avril Lavigne sang with Shania Twain at the Corel Center, Ottawa, and was watched by 20,000 people. They sang Shania Twain’s What Made You Say That.
At that moment, Avril told Shania that she wanted to become a famous singer. After that moment, Avril Lavigne met local singer, Stephen Medd. Stephen invited him to contribute vocals to his song, Touch the Sky. After that Avril was asked again to help with some of Stephen’s songs.
In December 1999, Avril Lavigne met her first professional manager, Cliff Fabri, while singing a country cover at the Chapters bookstore in Kingston, Ontario. Cliff mails VHS tapes of Avril’s home show to several industry prospects, and Avril is visited by several executives. Mark Jowett, the co-founder of Canadian management company Nettwerk, received a copy of Avril Lavigne’s karaoke show recorded in her parents’ basement.

Mark Jowett arranged for Avril to work with producer Peter Zizzo during the summer of 2000 in New York, where she wrote the song Why. Avril Lavigne was also spotted by Arista Records during a trip to New York.
In November 2000, Avril Lavigne’s brief audition led to her being immediately signed by Arista in a deal worth $1.25 million for two albums and an additional $900,000 in advance payments. At this moment Avril Lavigne has found the image of a high school skater from where she came from. After receiving a contract and getting support from her parents, Avril finally left school to focus on a music career.
