BOSS CH-1 Super Chorus – Despite the many other chorus pedals that have come and gone, the Boss CH-1 Super Chorus still stands and has been in production for over 20 years. There’s something about this pedal that has made it a popular choice for guitarists looking for a “Lush” Chorus sound to add a sense of space to their tone.
While the boss continues to update the Chorus Ensemble CE-5 pedal and also the CE-20 series (which has now been discontinued, they continue to include the CH-1 in their product list even though they have released many other products. There are different characters between the CH-1 and the series). others that make it a constant in the main lineup.
the most striking difference between the CH-1 and CE-5 is in the tone shaping knob, where the CH-1 uses one knob while the CE-5 divides it into two parts; high and low cut. CH-5 allows users to find various tones more precisely, especially so that the chorus sound that we use can be heard in the whole arrangement, while the Boss CH-1 Super Chorus which uses one knob only allows the user to form the overall tone. although at first glance the CE-5 Chorus Ensemble looks more flexible, some people feel that the sound of the CE-5 which is actually more modern does not have the warm character of the CH-1.
