GOT the Beat Set to Come Back in January 2023

GOT the beat supergroup from South Korea has confirmed a comeback with the release of a new single in January 2023. This news was confirmed by SM Entertainment as the agency that oversees GOT the beat.

“GOT the beat is preparing for a comeback in January. Please enthusiasm and support,” wrote SM Entertainment in an official statement, as reported by My Daily via Naver on Friday (23/12).

The new single will be GOT the beat’s first comeback since debuting in January 2022. At that time, the unit, which consisted of a number of SM Entertainment girl group members, released a single titled Step Back.

GOT the beat also joined as one of the performers on SM Town Live 2022: SMCU Express at Kwangya, then appeared on a number of television shows, such as the music program M Countdown.

GOT the beat is the first unit of the Girls on Top (GOT) supergroup project launched by SM Entertainment on December 27, 2021. Since its inception, GOT the beat has focused on the concept of upbeat music and intense stage action.

This unit consists of seven idols under SM Entertainment. They are BoA, Taeyeon, Hyoyeon SNSD, Seulgi, Wendy Red Velvet, Karina and Winter aespa.

A similar supergroup concept was also developed by SM Entertainment for male idols through SuperM. This supergroup was formed earlier than GOT, namely in 2019.

SuperM consists of seven idols from various SM Entertainment boy groups, starting from Baekhyun and Kai EXO, Taemin SHINee, Taeyong NCT 127, Mark NCT Dream, to Ten, and Lucas WayV.

Since making their debut, SuperM has also released a number of songs through albums and Extended Plays (EP). Call it the debut EP titled SuperM which was released in 2019 to the album titled Super One, released in 2020.
