Parkway Drive Band, Release New Single Album DARKER STILL
Parkway Drive Band, a Metalcore from Australia have shared the title track from their upcoming seventh album, Darker Still. The new album is Parkway Drive’s seventh, which will include 11 terrifying tracks and be released on September 9, 2022, via Epitaph. This new album is a follow-up to their previous album, Reverence, which was released in 2018.
The new single is titled the same as the album’s title, Darker Still. This single is the latest preview from Parkway Drive for the new album. Darker Still is a song that is almost seven minutes long.
The single started out as an acoustic guitar-driven ballad. However, in the end, this song turned epic and heavier. This song is also more complete with a dose of vocalist Winston McCall’s signature scream.
“Until I die, until I die,” shouts Winston McCall over and over again as he sings the lyrics towards the end, with the group chanting in response: “And the night grows darker still.” The single Darker Still comes with a spooky black-and-white music video, directed by Lucas Englund & Third Eye Visuals.
In an earlier statement, Winston McCall explained: “What you hear on [album] Darker Still is the ultimate fulfillment of [Parkway Drive’s] ability to learn and grow, chasing the imagination we’ve always had. There are compositions and songs that we’ve never tried before—or, rather, that we’ve tried in the past, but don’t have the courage, time, or understanding to do.”
Guitarist Jeff Ling added: “I’m very proud of what we’ve accomplished together, and feel that as musicians, we’ve really stepped into a new realm of class and ability.”

Parkway Drive Band itself is holding its showcase in the UK and Europe in September and October. They held performances in a number of cities in several countries such as Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, and England.

“The greatest fear, which we all have in common; this song is about the unifying force we all have to face—death,” says vocalist Winston McCall of the song, which follows the single Glitch.
“The goal was to make a song that sees death not as something that separates us, but as something that connects us all on our path. Musically, we wanted to make a song that did this concept justice. It’s heavy, epic, and when stepped on it leaves an impact.”
Parkway Drive Band is a metalcore unit from Byron Bay, New South Wales, Australia. The band was formed in 2003. As of 2018, Parkway Drive has released six studio albums, one EP, two DVDs, separate albums, and one book, entitled Ten Years of Parkway Drive. The band’s four most recent albums have reached the top 10 on Australia’s ARIA Charts, with Ire reaching number 1 in October 2015, and Reverence in May 2018.
The band’s line-up has been consistent since the addition of bassist Jia O’Connor in 2006, with Brett Versteeg leaving in 2004 and Shaun Cash in 2006. Today, Parkway Drive consists of Winston McCall (vocals), Jeff Ling (lead guitar), Luke “Pig” Kilpatrick (rhythm guitar), Ben “Gaz” Gordon (drums), and Jia “Pie” O’Connor (bass).
For its discography, Parkway Drive Band has scored at least seven full-length albums such as Killing with a Smile (2005), Horizons (2007), Deep Blue (2010), Atlas (2012), Ire (2015), Reverence (2018), and Darker Still. which was released in September 2022.
