Birds In Row Release New Album “Gris Klein”

Birds In Row – The French band have announced their upcoming album, Gris Klein. This album has a basic concept of loving each other. Birds In Row wants people to know that they are not alone and that they can rely on each other.

This album was written and produced during the lockdown period in the midst of the pandemic precisely after Birds In Row toured with blackgaze pioneer, Alcest. This album comes with the nuances of the struggle for mental health, as well as the ongoing cultural war and socio-political upheaval.

The single from the album, titled Nympheas, Birds In Row says that this song is an ode to those who continue to struggle when they don’t have the energy anymore or even feel like they don’t have it. Especially when they face increasingly visible political problems.

Birds In Row Band New Album

Gris Klein’s album is a continuation of the sensational We Already Lost The World album in 2018. Birds in Row formed in Laval, Mayenne in 2009. The band chose the name Birds In Row because birds can fly freely, but for them, birds are often seen flying in groups or landing on cables in succession.

To them, these animal habits represent how people can choose to be free, but always end up following their peers to feel comfortable. Birds In Row also chose to sing in English because they wanted most people to understand.

The band’s initial releases were the mini albums Rise of the Phoenix in 2009 and Cottbus in 2010, which were released through Vitriol Records. Continuing their musical journey, in 2011 Birds in Row began working on their debut album. Deathwish Inc. showed interest in republishing the Cottbus EP released in 2010.

In response to this interest, Birds In Row instead offered the album they were working on at the time. Finally, both parties agreed in November 2011 until finally, Birds In Row finished recording their debut album in January 2012.

In 2012, Birds In Row released the music video for the song Pilori. In the end, their debut album, You, Me & the Violence was released on September 4, 2012. In the same year, they went on a number of tours.

In 2014, Birds in Row announced it was going through a “pretty brutal” line-up change. In order to learn to perform together with the new line-up and want to pay homage to the people and labels that helped them reach their level of success, the band decided to release a series of EPs and separate releases in lieu of a full album.
