Gang Of Youths Band Will Release New Album on February
Throughout 2021, Gang Of Youths band was quite active in introducing a series of new songs. In fact, this is a step taken by Gang Of Youths to welcome their third album, Angel In Realtime, which is scheduled to be released in February. Throughout 2021, a total of 4 songs were released by Gang Of Youths as a bridge for their third album. The four songs include The Angel Of 8th Ave., Unison, The Man Himself, and Tend The Garden.
Four songs as singles that compose the journey in welcoming the new album is a fairly large number. Approximately one month before the release of the album Angel In Realtime, the Gang Of Youths band re-released a single entitled In The Wake Of Your Leave. The song marks the fifth single released by Gang Of Youths to welcome their third album. In concocting his latest song, Gang Of Youths presents quite a special thing. This comes from the involvement of other parties outside the Gang Of Youths.
To complete the song In The Wake Of Your Leave, Gang Of Youths also invited the Auckland Gospel Choir to provide a harmonious vocal feel in the background. It didn’t stop there, Gang Of Youths also presented percussion instrumentalizations that came from various drum players from the Cook Islands.
Regarding the story behind the song In The Wake Of Your Leave, Gang Of Youths frontman Dave Le’aupepe explained that through the song he wanted to reflect on the character development he had experienced. The life journey that the frontman of Gang Of Youths went through is considered a big inspiration for how the song In The Wake Of Your Leave was written.
According to him, throughout his life, the Gang Of Youths band frontman had to go through less memorable times. But from that moment he gradually learned to be able to accept the life that had to go on. One of these moments was triggered by the departure of his father from Dave Le’aupepe for good which had quite an impact on the mental health of the Gang Of Youths frontman.
By going through dark times and being able to accept what life has to offer, the Gang Of Youths frontman admits that the process of writing the song In The Wake Of Your Leave is quite easy. He began to find inspiration when he was unwinding by walking in the city of Copenhagen, Denmark one night. On that trip, the vocalist from Gang Of Youths band began to think about the chorus which became the foundation of the song In The Wake Of Your Leave, and then the writing process seemed to flow easily.
