Smashing Pumpkin New Album – The frontman of this band, Billy Corgan performed several new songs at a fundraiser organized for victims of the Highland Park mass shooting. Billy also performed a new song entitled Photograph which was inspired by the tragedy.

This fundraiser took place last July 27 at Madame Zuzu, a teahouse located in Highland Park with a performance space created and run with her partner, Chloe Mendel.

The fundraiser was also shown online so that streaming fans could donate funds to Together And Together Again, a charity founded by Billy Corgan and his partners in the aftermath of the shooting tragedy. The Smashing Pumpkins frontman has lived in Highland Park for the last two decades and ran Madame Zuzu there in 2011 near the July 4, 2022 shooting incident.

On Smashing Pumpkin New Album, the photo has written by Billy Corgan after dreaming about Independence Day with six people. Throughout the fundraising night, Billy played some of his solos and some of the classics from the Smashing Pumpkins.

In a video, Billy said that the July 4 tragedy was very close to his heart. Because there are many people nearby who are affected by this tragedy.

The mass shooting in Highland Park occurred during the Independence Day parade. Six people were shot dead by gunmen from the roof of the building. Allegedly targeting random participants and armed with high-powered rifles. In addition to the six people, there were 24 people who were rushed to the hospital.

The Smashing Pumpkins are an American alternative rock band from Chicago. Formed in 1988 by frontman, guitarist, and lead composer Billy Corgan, bassist D’arcy Wretzky, guitarist James Iha and drummer Jimmy Chamberlin. The band has undergone many line-up changes and the current lineup is Billy Corgan, Jimmy Chamberlin, James Iha, and guitarist Jeff Schroeder.

After breaking up with his gothic rock band The Marked, Billy Corgan left St. Petersburg, Florida, to return to his hometown of Chicago, where he worked at a record store and formed the idea of ​​forming a new band. While working there, he met guitarist James Iha. The two began writing songs together which drew heavily on influences from The Cure and New Order.

The duo performed live for the first time on July 9, 1988, at the Polish bar Chicago 21. The show included only Billy Corgan on bass and James Iha on guitar with a drum machine. Shortly thereafter, Billy met D’arcy Wretzky after a performance by the Dan Reed Network in which they debated the band’s superiority. After learning that D’arcy Wretzky was good at playing guitar and bass, Billy Corgan recruited him into the lineup, and the three performed at the Avalon Nightclub.

Jazz drummer Jimmy Chamberlin was recommended by a friend of Billy Corgan. Jimmy Chamberlin knew little about alternative music and soon changed the musical hallmark of the nascent Smashing Pumpkin. On October 5, 1988, with a complete line-up, the Smashing Pumpkin took to the stage for the first time at Cabaret Metro.

In 1989, the Smashing Pumpkins made their first appearance on record with the compilation album Light Into Dark, which featured several alternative Chicago bands. The group released their first single, I Am One, in 1990 on the local Chicago label Limited Potential. The single sold out and they continued with the release of Tristessa on Sub Pop until after that they signed a contract with Caroline Records. The band recorded their 1991 debut studio album, Gish. The album was a minor success, with the single Rhinoceros receiving several airplay on modern rock radio. After releasing the EP Lull in October 1991 on Caroline Records, the band was officially signed to Virgin Records, which Caroline is affiliated with.

In contrast to the punk rock of many of their alt-rock contemporaries, the Smashing Pumpkins had diverse, guitar-heavy music that included elements of gothic rock, heavy metal, dream pop, psychedelic rock, progressive rock, shoegazing, and, on record, Next up, electronics. Billy Corgan is the group’s main songwriter. His musical ambitions and cathartic lyrics have shaped the band’s signature album.

The Smashing Pumpkins became known for their second album, Siamese Dream which was released in 1993. The band built its audience on an extensive tour with their continued steps in the music scene with the double album Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness which brought the Smashing Pumpkins to debut at number one. on the Billboard 200 album chart. With 30 million albums sold worldwide, the Smashing Pumpkins were one of the most commercially successful and critically acclaimed bands of the 1990s. But internal conflicts, drug use, and declining sales records led to the band’s breakup in 2000.

In 2006, Billy Corgan and Jimmy Chamberlin reunited to record the Smashing Pumpkin new album Zeitgeist. After touring throughout 2007 and 2008 with a line-up including new guitarist Jeff Schroeder, Jimmy Chamberlin left the band in early 2009. Later that year, Billy Corgan began a new recording series called Teargarden by Kaleidyscope.

Jimmy Chamberlin and James Iha officially rejoined the band in February 2018. The reunited lineup released the album Shiny and Oh So Bright, Vol. 1 / LP: No Past. No Futures. No Sun in November 2018 and Cyr in November 2020.
