Bullet for My Valentin Announces New Album And Single Omen
Bullet for My Valentine, a Wales metalcore unit, released a new song titled Omen on April 8, 2022. This news follows their announcement via Instagram, @bfmvofficial, recently. In that post, they shared a 17-second teaser video containing a snippet of this single.
The release of this single is very fast. The reason is, that Bullet For My Valentine has just released a self-titled album, Bullet for My Valentine, in October 2021. Meanwhile, the new single Omen was released for the deluxe album Bullet for My Valentine, which has expanded tracks. The expanded version of this deluxe edition album will feature the original ten songs plus four new songs in addition to the B-Side Stitches previously only available on the Japanese version of the album.
The deluxe edition of the Bullet For My Valentine album was released digitally on July 8, 2022, with CD and vinyl formats to follow on November 11, 2022.
Talking about the self-titled record for NME, vocalist Matt Tuck said: “Creatively, the band is on another level now. The writing process for the new record was relentless. Having that creative flow is something you crave when writing songs, let alone writing albums and we can’t stop. The songwriting quality is phenomenal on this record, they’re brave, they’re fierce, they’re confident. Everything just fell into place. It feels like the start of something really special.”
Talking about these additional songs, Matt Tuck added: “They are different and unique. I want them to see the light of day because they are heavy, they pull and they push boundaries.”
Bullet For My Valentine fans is very enthusiastic about this single. The release of last year’s self-titled album is considered to be a momentum for this metal band to return to roots metal. Several singles that have been released previously, such as Knives, Parasite, Bastards, and Can’t Escape the Waves are like bullets ready to pierce the listener’s ears. No wonder, because previously some of Bullet For My Valentine’s music material was considered softened because of the release of the album Gravity (2018), which turned out to be not as metal as other albums.
Currently, Bullet for My Valentine is preparing to appear at several major festivals such as the Special Route Resurrection Fest which will be held in Spain, on 28 June 2022 with Spirit box, Alien Weaponry, and many more.
In July 2021, Bullet For My Valentine distributed the single Parasite. This single is the second they release in welcoming their seventh album in 2021. Parasite offers a musical color with similar aggression. You could even say that the Bullet For My Valentine song sounds fiercer than their previous single, Knives, which was released in mid-June 2021.
Matt Tuck as vocalist and guitarist for Bullet For My Valentine explained that Parasite is a song with aggression that is immediately felt at the beginning of the song and is constant until the end. According to the vocalist, the process of making this song is also one of the songs that are quite easy to be realized in his seventh album later.
Bullet For My Valentine doesn’t think too much about concepts or themes that are too complex. They want the Parasite song to be formed and have meaning organically. The organic aspect of a song is so important for Bullet For My Valentine because they want their music lovers to feel the same way they wrote their new song.
