Avenged Sevenfold Use Kanye West as Inspiration

Avenged Sevenfold – The world of music today often presents news about the development of music that is quite horrendous and different from usual. It’s a rare moment for Kanye West to come from hip hop to be the inspiration for a metal band like Avenged Sevenfold. However, M Shadows as the frontman of Avenged Sevenfold has his own reasons.

In the middle of the recording process for Avenged Sevenfold’s new album, M. Shadows revealed that he was quite inspired by what Kanye West did in each of his works. M. Shadows explains that Kanye West has a huge talent for maximizing the potential of a song. Kanye West is a musician and producer who wants to find out a lot of things to bring something different in his music. The differences that are present do not necessarily make the song strange. In fact, it becomes a good work to be listened to continuously.

Amazed by Kanye West’s ability and seriousness, M. Shadows admitted that he wanted to try to apply what the hip hop producer did to Avenged Sevenfold’s creative process. M. Shadows admits that from childhood to adulthood, it was rare for him to listen to music outside the realm of rock and metal. He admits that related to music literacy is still quite limited. However, there are times when the vocalist from Avenged Sevenfold listens to jazz music and begins to enjoy and learn about his extraordinary unique chord progressions.

Avenged sevenfold – Knowing that he could take many references in making songs, what M. Shadows found was immediately transmitted to other Avenged Sevenfold colleagues. Collectively, all members of Avenged Sevenfold finally explored references to be developed together in the creative process of their eighth album.

On the same occasion, M. Shadows also explained about the process of working on the album that Avenged Sevenfold is currently undergoing. The plan, they will complete the recording process in February. So that in March, Avenged Sevenfold’s eighth album can begin to enter the finalization stage of production. M. Shadows also revealed that this January, Avenged Sevenfold will travel to Prague to record the orchestral instrumentalization needed for their new album.

The concept of using orchestral instrumentalization has actually been in the minds of Avenged Sevenfold members for a long time. M. Shadows stated that the process of recording Avenged Sevenfold’s new album had been going on for about a year. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it is not possible for them to travel abroad to complete the orchestral instrument elements. Fortunately, at the beginning of 2022, Avenged Sevenfold managed to get a chance to fly to Prague and complete what was needed for their latest album.

Avenged Sevenfold’s eighth album will be released under Capitol Records and will probably be the last album for the band to own a record label. The reason is that until now, Avenged Sevenfold still does not have a follow-up contract from either Capitol Records or other record labels to bring the metal band into a roster in the future.

With the possibility of releasing their ninth album without a record label, Avenged Sevenfold is known to have started doing a lot of experiments with their musical style. The creative process is also made to be more closed and personal. According to him, Avenged Sevenfold’s musical style in the future will be wilder. Even different from what they had been doing so far.
