The unit is then excited to announce the upcoming release of its most introspective, uplifting, and vital release to date. The Awakening album is their first full-length release in five years.

Kamelot Band - The Awakening new album

On this new album, Kamelot band blends styles such as symphonic, gothic, melodic, progressive, and power metal while producing some of the heaviest songs in the band’s history.

Along with the announcement of The Awakening, Kamelot also gifted fans with the first single from the album—a huge, unforgettable song, One More Flag In The Ground. The song attests to the band’s unwavering skill in balancing the potential of rock and metal and explores important lyrical themes in the fight against physical or mental illness, illness, or discord.

KAMELOT Band vocalist Tommy Karevik said, “The main focus of this music video and song is to have a metaphor of struggling against illness or disease, both physical and mental. Every step of healing and restoration is One More Flag In The Ground. With every small step, one more victory is achieved….”

Kamelot is one of the few bands in the symphonic genre that fully embraces darkness, but of course, there is no light without it. The inspiring and compelling lyrical themes of their materials are those of determination, strength, overcoming personal battles, and abundant growth in The Awakening.

Kamelot’s latest materials are fueled by extreme social change and the overwhelming realization that we have such a short time to be true to ourselves and live life to the fullest.

With a crisp, modern production helmed by the band and longtime producer Sascha Paeth, plus mixing and mastering by Hansen Studios’ Jacob Hansen, Kamelot’s 13th studio album resembles a score accented by guest contributions from other line-ups such as Melissa Bonny (Ad Infinitum) and renowned instrumentalists such as the Grammy-nominated violinist Florian Janoske, to the cellist featuring the soundtrack of Tina Guo.

Kamelot band guitarist Thomas Youngblood said: “With The Awakening, we have one of our most diverse albums in years. We have combined elements from progressive, power, and gothic metal to this one symphonic and melodic metal.”

“Working with incredible guest artists from across the music industry and having the mixing of producers Sascha Paeth and Jacob Hansen gave us another step in the overall sound. This album offers everything for KAMELOT fans and also reaches further into legions of new metal and hard rock.”
